Unfortunately yes, the problem comes from the binary version. The U8 is not supported by the IMEI REPAIR method at the moment. Hopefully we can handle it later on.

Sure. We know that we have a homework regarding to the Binary 8. We hope that soon we can handle it. Recently we focused more on the MTK module and that is the reason why other things, like this, are still hanging in the air.
We are sorry for it, but we will work on the case!
