Microsoft will release a stripped-down version of Windows 11

Following the leak of the test version of Windows 11, insiders published information about a special
modification of the new OS. According to the leak, the SE build will be the successor to the lightweight
Windows 10 S-Mode and will rely more heavily on cloud services.

According to network informants, Windows 11 SE will lose a number of functions of the standard version
of the OS to improve the security of work and will be tied to the company's network services. In particular,
it lacks some system settings and the Microsoft Store is blocked, the launch of which requires "contact with
the administrator."

In addition, a Microsoft account is required to install Windows 11 SE, while by default there is no way to create
more than one account in the system - the limitation can be bypassed only through the command line. However,
the OS supports the installation of Win32 applications, which was not available in Windows 10 S-Mode.

The editor of the Windows Central portal Zach Bowden suggested that the light edition of the operating system
will be positioned as a solution for the cloud service Cloud PC, but this information has not yet been confirmed
by the developers.

More information about Windows 11 SE Microsoft is likely to provide during the conference on June 24.
