World-First Oppo/OnePlus/Realme Qualcomm EDL Solution

Update Week – Day 3

You may have already guessed it. Our third update focuses on Realme. With this release, we are adding support for a large number of Realme Qualcomm devices that no other tool has been able to service in EDL mode before.

These models normally require authenticated programmers, which means traditional tools can only handle them through online verification. With Chimera, this limitation does not apply. You can service all supported Realme Qualcomm devices fully offline using your existing Chimera licence.

Many users have been asking for Realme Qualcomm support, and we are happy to deliver it as the next milestone of our Update Week series.

Technical Notes & Tips

  • Phone connection: Some models require you to keep the buttons pressed until the “Reconnect Battery” dialog appears to ensure a successful EDL connection.
  • OppoDL Mode: When a Qualcomm-based Oppo, OnePlus or Realme device is connected to Chimera, the system automatically starts the identification procedure.
In most cases, detection completes successfully if you hold both Volume and Power buttons during the initial connection.

    Special case – OppoDL Mode:
Certain models may only enter a special OppoDL Mode using this method. If that happens, follow these steps to access Recovery Mode manually:
    • Press and hold the Volume Down button while the phone is booting.
    • Select your language once Recovery Mode appears.
    • Tap multiple times on the “Version” indicator.
    • When the hidden menu appears, choose Download (EDL) Mode.
  • On rare models, neither button combinations nor Recovery Mode will switch the device into the proper EDL mode.
In such cases, hardware Test Points are required to establish the connection.
  • AntiRollback warning: After servicing or a firmware update, the device may no longer connect in EDL mode.
This can happen if the new firmware raises the AntiRollback version, making the previously compatible programmer unusable.
  • Android 15 compatibility: The solution also works after upgrading to Android 15 on Oppo 11, Oppo Open and Oppo N3.
  • OnePlus 13 note: After the first boot, the phone restarts automatically. The programmer works correctly from the second boot.
  • Tutorial videos: We have published two new videos on our YouTube channel, showcasing the new FRP Removal and Firmware Update procedures!
