I have at me SM-A566B and need to service it on EUB mode. But:



Where to select model?

Dear User,

Normally devices connected in EUB mode are recognised automatically, users are not expected to select any models, unless the EUB connection is being made through Device Wizard

I think there are communication issues that make Chimera unable to recognise the phone properly, and this might be related to driver/cable/port issues.

Please try to press the power button on the phone while shorting the test points, maybe try that together with Device Wizard.
If it's still not getting recognised properly, then go through the following steps to ensure the UsbDk driver is functioning properly on your computer:

1. Make sure you are using a stock/full copy of Windows 10 or 11
2. If you see "Test Mode" in the bottom right corner of your desktop, DISABLE IT!
3. Update Windows to the latest patch 22H2 (win10) or 24H2 (win11)
4. Manually uninstall the UsbDk driver, and install it again from the Tool

Afterwards try to connect the device again in EUB mode.

Yes - Chimera also fall when flash the phone, until Odin 3.14.4 [ on same PC ] flash it well... Win is 22H2, stock up to date. UsbDk driver is 5.0

Dear User,

When flashing these models with Chimera Tool, you have to select "Enable PIT Write" at the start of the software update operation.

Please make sure that driver signature enforcement is NOT disabled on this computer, and attempt to connect the phone in EUB mode again, but this time monitor your Windows Device Manager.

Do you see the "Exynos" or "UsbDk" port appear when shorting the test points?
If so, do you see any errors (question mark/exclamation mark) indicated on the icon of the driver?

Anyway - do not care about me [ in case with this A566B ] - i do the job another way. But ...

It's good idea to have a way to follow the instructions from Chimera Mobile Phone Utility in case like this in my initial post - mean If there is a hint to "... select the model from combobox above..." let exist a "combobox" where i possibile to select supported model [ to be corect about - you can place a Warning that manual selection is user's responsibility ]. If model [ new models comes everyday, you know! ] do not exist - let then the algorithm to follow to Unsupported [ until current release, so - "Please wait for update" may appear ] and collect [ your tool is online service ] some info about [ if user accept to share it ] that will help [ your developers ] to identify what is needed in such case.

Just my 2 cents about.

P.S. - You know how i use your tool - so you know that i look on this case just like a way to improve the services we [ all your Chimera Mobile Phone Utility customers ] use currently ...

Dear User,

Sorry, it looks like I have mixed up your A566B with A556B.
As opposed to A566B models, we DO support A556B models in EUB mode, which led me to believe that Chimera is supposed to recognised the device, but there are just communication issues.
After double checking I can see that this is an A566B instead, which is actually NOT supported in EUB mode.
This is why you encounter the bug with the combo box as well, and unfortunately we do NOT have a solution currently to service this device in EUB mode.

A566B EUB mode exist with TP that is on your support. So - waiting for progress about.

Dear User,

Just to avoid confusion, please note that our Test Point database is completely separate from the solutions we have.
In the case of A566B, we indeed know the location of the test points, however there are no solutions that we support in EUB mode for this model.



That being said, we are looking forward to add full EUB support to the newest models as well.
