Apple has released iOS 16.7.4 and iPadOS 16.7.4 updates for devices that are not compatible with iOS 17. iOS 16.7.4 has been released alongside iOS 17.2.1, which is also available for download for iOS 17-compatible iPhones.
iOS 16.7.4 and iPadOS 16.7.4 bring an important bug fix for the issue that prevented users from re-installing built-in apps if they were deleted by the user.
For example, if you deleted the stock Camera or Calculator app the bug prevented you from installing it again from the App Store. That issue has thankfully been fixed.
If you have an older iPhone or iPad, then you can head over to the Software Update section of your iOS device to install this update over the air.
