Some apps fail to load properly after Oppo software update

After updating an Oppo device to the latest firmware, I’ve noticed that a few non-system apps are behaving inconsistently. System apps work fine, but some third-party apps either take too long to load or don’t refresh data unless the app is restarted.

One case I’ve seen is with finance-related apps. For example, when trying a FAB bank balance check, the app sometimes stays on a loading screen until background restrictions are disabled or battery optimization is adjusted.

I’ve already cleared cache and checked permissions, but I’m wondering if this is related to recent ColorOS background management changes or aggressive RAM control. Has anyone else faced similar behavior after flashing or updating Oppo software, and is there a recommended setting or fix that works consistently?

This behavior is very common after recent Oppo / ColorOS updates. The system is more aggressive with background app control, which causes third-party finance apps to stall on loading or fail to refresh unless they’re reopened. It’s not usually an app bug, but a background and battery optimization issue introduced with the update.

Many users avoid this altogether by using a browser-based method instead of the app. For example, checking balances through how to check fab balance works reliably because it isn’t affected by ColorOS background restrictions.

So yes, your suspicion is correct. It’s tied to ColorOS RAM and background management, and using a web-based option is often the most consistent workaround until Oppo refines the update.
