Android users are well aware that their gadgets are often updated with a delay or do not get new firmware at all. Google was going to solve the problem with the help of Project Treble - a step-by-step system of updates, when over the assembly, in turn, suppliers of hardware, device manufacturers and mobile operators. Unfortunately, the system will not have time to introduce to the release of Android 8.0, but Sony does not hurt - judging by the latest leak, the company is preparing a number of firmware based on the new "green robot".

Insiders from Japan said that Sony will update eight devices immediately after the release of Android 8.0. Probably, later to the list of smartphones on the new operating system will be added Xperia XZ1 Compact, which will get Android O "out of the box."Sony has planned an update for smartphones:
  • Sony Xperia XZ Premium (G8141, G8142);
  • Sony Xperia XZS (G8231, G8232);
  • Sony Xperia XA 1 (G3121, G3123, G3125, G3116, G3123);
  • Sony Xperia L1 (G3311, G3312, G3313);
  • Sony Xperia X Compact;
  • Sony Xperia XZ (F8331, F8332);
  • Sony Xperia X Performance;
  • Sony Xperia X (F5121, F5122);
  • Sony Xperia XA 1 Ultra (G3221, G3212, G3223, G3226).

Judging by the list, Sony will update only the X-series and Xperia X1 devices, and the line with the prefix "Z" will be left out. Meanwhile, the data can be specified closer to the output of Android O, and the number of supported models of Sony will expand.
