I am using SiteGround as a host and my technical know-how is based on trial and error. I've been able to set up phpBB before, but our community is looking for a permanent home so I'd like to make a solid choice now. We are looking for something that will be user-friendly to people who haven't had much experience with message boards before, including older folk. We also want a place where we can discuss and store a lot of scientific discussion which we can then share to other websites. Free is preferable, but we'd consider paying for a license or whatnot if it'll provide more than free software.
