I have a xiaomi phone with a mi account. I erased his mi account but it got locked again as soon as he connected to the internet. That model boots on Xiaomi authentication.

Hi, for Qualcomm it works perfectly, keeping in mind that after editing modem and persist, you flash and then enable USB debug or developer options and relock fix mi account. After this, you can connect to the internet.

For MTK, it's not just about editing the persist.img; you have to read the partitions, and you'll see modem-a and modem-b depending on the model. You have to edit it and then relock fix mi account. After that, you can connect to the internet.

For protocol or security reasons, it's always recommended to back up the security, radio frequency, and phone partitions, except for userdata.
