iOS 17 compatibility list​


During its WWDC 2023 keynote Apple announced iOS 17 compatibility list. The same information is also available on Apple’s official iOS 17 features page. According to the information that has been made public by Apple, the following devices support iOS 17 and iPadOS 17.


iPhones that support iOS 17​


Here are the iPhone models that support iOS 17 and will get the iOS 17 update once it is released publicly. Developer and public beta testers can also install iOS 17 betas on these devices.

iPhones that are not getting iOS 17​


The iPhones listed below have been eliminated from the list of iOS 17 supported devices. These devices featured support for iOS 16 however they will not be able to run iOS 17 when it is released in the fall.

  • iPhone 8 Plus
  • iPhone 8

iPads that are not getting iPadOS 17​


The following iPad models do not support iOS 17. Although they run iOS 16, these iPads will not be getting the iPadOS 17 update when it is released in the fall.


  • 12.9-in. iPad Pro (1st generation)
  • 9.7-in. iPad Pro (1st generation)
  • iPad (5th generation)
