We've not heard much about the upcoming Nokia 9 and Nokia 8 handsets so far but a leaked set of sketches suggest the phones are going to follow 2017 flagships from LG and Samsung by keeping the front bezels down to a minimum, with just a sliver of a frame at the top and bottom.

Schematics sent by an anonymous tipster to NokiaPowerUser show both the Nokia 8 and the Nokia 9 with huge screens dominating the front of the devices. In the case of the Nokia 9 there's no room for a home button to the fingerprint sensor is relocated to the back.

The Nokia 9 also seems to be adopting the 18:9 aspect ratio we've seen on the LG G6 and the Samsung Galaxy S8 this year, while the Nokia 8 sticks with the more conventional 16:9 approach. Unfortunately we don't have any specs or other details to go with the images. 7, 8 and 9 are the magic numbers

Now we should point out that there's no way of verifying the validity of these sketches just yet - and they don't match a couple of other drawings we've seen - but the pictures look like they could be the official designs. Take them with a pinch of salt for now.

Earlier rumors have suggested we could be looking at an all-metal body on one or both of these phones, while there's also talk of a 22MP dual-lens Carl Zeiss camera on the back of the more premium Nokia 9. Oh, and a Nokia 7 might also be on the cards .

We've been impressed with the new Nokia handsets from Finnish company HMD Global so far but we'll have to wait and see whether its premium handsets are as appealing as its mid-rangers. It does seem likely that stock Android will be on board again, which is always a plus in our book.
