Hey guys, wanted to share an amazing success story that proves you shouldn't always give up when a tool says 'Not Supported.'
I was working on a TCL 9032Z (Apollo_8_4G_TMO) running the 2023-02-05 security patch. I kept hitting Read security data: Fail. I tried 6 times, got constant errors, and even contacted Global Unlocker support. The agent told me the patch wasn't supported and kindly issued a refund (check my history screenshot!).
But I knew it was a hardware handshake issue, not a tool limitation. On the 7th attempt, I finally nailed it.
The Golden Workflow & How I Fixed It:
  1. Driver Cleanup: Completely uninstalled UsbDk (it completely breaks the MTK low-level boot sequence).
  2. Filter Prep: Restarted the PC, installed LibUsb-Win32, and opened the Filter Wizard.
  3. The ADB Handshake Trick: Instead of trying to connect the device powered off, I booted the tablet up normally and enabled USB Debugging (ADB).
  4. Automatic Capture: I clicked the unlock button in Global Unlocker. The tool automatically sent the ADB command to reboot the tablet. Because my LibUsb filter was active and waiting, the exact millisecond the tablet dropped out of Android to reboot, the filter instantly grabbed hold of the BROM connection before Windows could drop it.
The connection stabilized perfectly, security data read successfully, and the tool unlocked it instantly in 24 seconds for 3.5 credits! The device rebooted, said 'Switching Carrier,' and immediately grabbed a perfect 4G network signal!
If you get a refund or a fail on this device, check your drivers! Do not use UsbDk, switch to LibUsb filtering, and use ADB to let the tool force the reboot straight into the filter!
